Posted Aug 17 2009 10:24pm

It’s time for the second installment of “Dental Blogs: The Week in Review.” If you missed last weeks post, you can view it here: Dental Blogs: The Week in Review (August 9-15, 2009) .

So, without further ado, here’s the weekly roundup of interesting blog posts from around the Dental Blog Community for the week of August 9-15, 2009.

1) Are dentists wealthy? They don’t think so(Video) – TheWealthyDentist.com recently asked dentists if they consider themselves to be wealthy. Two out of three dentists who responded to the survey said “no”. Watch the video for an analysis of the findings by Jim Du Molin and Julie Frey.

2) Three common words and phrases to avoid during patient interaction Roger P. Levin, DDS, lists the top 3 words you should avoid using when interacting with your patients, and offers his rationale for each.

3) Dentists Step Up Marketing as Patients Skip Their Visits The Wall Street Journal posted an interesting article highlighting the importance of focusing, or perhaps re-focusing on marketing as we weather the current economic storm. There’s even a few tips in there that you may not have thought about.

4) Fluoridated Water Under Serious Scrutiny Dentalblogs.com recently published a post regarding the highly controversial fluoridation issue. While this is not news, I did discover a number of fluoridation “facts” that I had not seen before.

5) Best places to be a dental assistant DentistryIQ.com wanted to know which state was best for dental assistants? Their answer: Minnesota. Find out how the rankings were determined, and see where your state placed in the rankings.

…and there you have it. There’s a look at the top stories coming out of the Dental Blog Community this week. Look for a brand new list next week!

Did you read an interesting dental-related blog post this past week? I certainly can’t hit on them all, so please share what you found in a comment below.
