Description of Invention: A breakthrough technology has been created which maintains the connection between a dental abutment-prosthesis and an implant, even with repeated and heavy occlusal loads. Conventional screw connections can work loose under these repeated loads, leading to repeated loosening of the prosthesis-abutment. Our new patent pending invention inhibits any such loosening, by means of a unique linear-axial transmission of forces from the prosthesis, to a tubular spacer and an implanted base, by use of a retaining nut. This improved fastening structure, along with novel use of materials, increases the torque that may be applied during abutment connection or prosthesis placement. The invention also has the added advantage of permitting easy retrofitting of existing dental prostheses.
