how to handle transitions…

Transitions are often the most challenging part of learning a dance. Frequently, I hear students in my tap classes complain, “I just can’t get the transition!” when we move from one step to another, or even from one rhythm to another…

Transitions knock us out of our comfort zone. They push us beyond what is familiar and safe and on to new vistas and greater opportunities. Avoiding transitions may feel easiest but in the end a dance with no transitions is boring…
