I dance. A LOT! My range of motion has decreased much because I cannot move as quickly as the dance allows. I do various yoga stretchs, PT, and chiropractic treatment. However none seems to alleviate the popping in the inner hip joint.
Totally know what you're going through and it's painful and annoying too. One thing that helped me a ton was starting a daily mobility routine. I used a video called IntuFlow by Scott Sonnon. At first I thought it was really odd but after a couple of sessions the pain stopped and my range of motion got so much better.
It helped me so much and I had tried everything including many rolfing sessions (the most painful treatment ever). In the beginning the routine takes about 30 min. but after you get the hang of it you can get through it pretty quickly so it can be done daily as maintenance. It's almost addictive now.
Now the only time I have this problem is if I neglect my mobility routine for many days at a time. Hope you feel better whatever you choose to do : )
