Nicole is right, swimming is excellent for dancers. I don't quite get if you are performing with this injury or not. You have likely pulled a hamstring and I think it's important that you ask a chiropractor or physical therapist to be sure. If so, you can ice it a few times a day, and either get massage, or use a foam roller or soft rubber ball to work tension out of the muscle. And stretch, very gently.
"Traumeel" is a wonderful homeopathic ointment that helps with the soreness, and also helps soft tissues heal well. You can get it in some health food stores, or pharmacies that sell homeopathics. All the best with this.

I've been dancing for a while but it was only with a class. I've now been chosen to dance in a dance company that travels alot. Because I haven't been doing much but stretching,I was wondering if there were any workout plans that could help me!!!! And with the popped leg, I popped mine while stretching for an audition a few weeks ago! Now whenever I try to do a split or stretch some more, the leg begins to hurt again!
