Hip hop sounds like fun

Posted by Ashley C.

I'm a bit envious of those who are able to dance up a hip hop storm. I bet hip hop classes are the way to get started -- but can I go alone, or do I really need to learn with a partner?

I used to take dance classes at a gym and it was a blast. Of course, there is no way I would bust out those moves in a club, but the gym was a safe place to look like a dork!
You should really sign up for the hip-hop classes at Arillaga. I took one winter quarter of last year and had a great time. The music is awesome, and it's a good way to get a workout without feeling like you're working out. Not to mention it helps lower your stress. I took the class with a friend but ended up knowing tons of other people in the class. A lot of people were there on their own. You are really dancing the whole time with loud music playing, so you can definitely brave it on your own!
Every single hip-hop class I've seen was for solo dancers dancing in a group and not two people partnering up. I think if you are thinking of hip-hop as a partner dance, it may be from those "Dancing With the Stars" type of TV shows. But it's not like that when you take it as a group class.

hip hop danceing is realy joyable

You most definitely do not need a partner to dance hp hop. Try and find a beginner's class at a good quality studio in your area.

i would suggest that you go by yourself so you can do it by your self

Go for it! If you've got friends that want to tag along that's fine but you'll be okay by yourself and probably make tons of new friends in the process.
