I noticed that the tip of the day on the main Dance community page is to experiment by dancing with different partners. This is an interesting tip to me. I have taken a lot of partner dance classes without my husband, who unfortunately for me, has two left feet and would be mortified at the idea of taking a dance class with me. This leaves dancing with other partners. In my experience, I don't mind it so much but in a lot of ways, there is something intimate about the partner dance that can sometimes lend itself to a "singles" sort of atmosphere if you're going to the class without a partner. I've had experiences of dancing with people who inevitably think that I'm single because I'm there. It makes me think that it would be nice to go to dance classes that don't feel like a meat market but I haven't found that experience yet for partner dance.
