DanceUK: A Dance Science and Medicine Organization
Posted Apr 01 2008 10:55am
For all those interested in dance science and medicine careers, I’d sugest periodically checking the DanceUK website for great information and events. In the UK, DanceUK is perhaps the foremost proponent of dance science and healthy dance practice more generally. A conference entitled From Cognition to Conditioning was held at Middlesex University in February 2007.
DanceUK lobbies politicians and funders, promotes healthier dancers, advocates dance diversity, develops networks for the profession, nurtures career development and provides information and guidance for the public and professionals.
Hosting Dance Medicine Symposiums, one day courses in dance health and science, IADMS events and more worldwide, the DanceUK is truly an essential voice for the dance medicine and science fields. Dance UK also has a “Healthier Dancer Programme” which organizes periodic events and conferences to bring different sections of the dance community together to address pertinent issues. Soon these will be published within the pages of their website. You can subscribe to Dance UK's Healthier Dancer e-group as well.
Be sure to bookmark DanceUK.org to stay on top of upcoming events, conferences, and information! As the fields of Dance Medicine and Dance Science are growing and gaining maturity, DanceUK provides a wealth of information to its members, so consider joining! Subscribe to their periodicals or attend their workshops to network as well.
