What a crazy week! There is nothing like Kansas weather! This afternoon we had to go through the wonderful chore of of trying on jeans to see who has what! My wonderful friends Jess and Angie gave me a lot of clothes for the girls! This has been the biggest life saver for us right now! Money is tight and clothes are expensive.
Dennis and the boys worked on getting the car port down today. It's a big job and I'm still not sure what we are going to do with it, but it has to come down.
I'll be honest the approaching winter really has me scared. Last year we had to be careful and take all the precautions to keep from spreading germs. With the H1N1 going around I am terrified. This is mainly a respiratory issue, so I can see it being good for a child with CF. I don't want to be that mom that worries about everything, but our first year was rough. The first set of vaccines that are supposed to be delivered this week are for children 2-9 and Health Care workers. I'm just concerned. It's great to have a name for our dog! We are getting used to having him around and the extra work that is required! Phoenix loves having him around! The poor dog is having to get used to having all the kids around! He's great at jumping, but his running skills still need to be improved!
Phoenix looks so grown up these days with his new hair cut! That baby look is starting to go away, and that independent big boy look is really starting to show through. He's vocabulary is really starting to expand, and he'll repeat almost anything! (Which his brothers and sisters love!) His love for music is still growing! Since the NICU he's loved music and it's always relaxed him, as he's grown his love for music has grown also.
Where has time gone? First words! First steps! First tooth! First time sleeping through the night! First sleep over at Grandma and Papa's! First hair cut! It seems like yesterday I was trying to figure out how to make it through another day. My days and nights had all started running together. Getting up to and going to work was a chore, and cooking dinner at night was almost to much to handle. I was so unsure of the future and what God had in store for our family. We'd received this amazing gift in the birth of our son, but I was so unsure about the obstacles that continued to lay ahead.
Now here we are and Phoenix is 17 months old. We've made it through! I leave for work in the morning and my heart aches to hurry home and get a smile and hug from my amazing little boy. He's taught me so many important lessons in life. I still wonder what it is that I did so right in my life to deserve such an amazing family.
I've got some new big boy pictures to get posted! We hope everyone has an amazing weekend with their own wonderful family!
