We recently took a road trip to Oklahoma. Now, no offense to those of you who live in Oklahoma, and believe its the most exciting place on earth, but I did not find the drive exciting. I have made the drive through a few times with my hubby before kids. I believe I slept most of the way, or made very good friends with the radio by the end of the hour.
The kids were less than bored. They had enough questions to burn out the mind of Einstein. "It's the age" my mom says. Yeah ...
I did write down a few cute things that the kids said.
Azer asked, "Mommy, most stars are white, but what are those red stars that blink?" (They were radio and TV towers).
One road we were on was in need of repairs (or maybe it already had been repaired, sometimes I can't tell ;). The noise coming from the road made their little imaginations start running. They imagined a dinosaur was chasing us. Each bump we hit was another dinosaur footstep. They were laughing and carrying on in the back at each bump.
And lastly, Azer: "The moon is broken! Sometimes it's a tiny piece, but its really broken this time!" They were surprised at the reddish color it had that night.
Here is one similar to the one that night.
And this is what happened by the time we got to the hotel:
