We finally had a snowstorm, our first snow of 2012. The first snowstorm since that wacky blizzard in October, I still don’t know what that was about. Yet a week later, all the snow is gone and in my opinion it is gorgeous sweatshirt weather, weird.
I am so happy that there was finally some snow to take the kids outside to play with. Nathan wanted to build a snowman but unlike the perfect packing snow we had in October, this snow was light and fluffy and would not even make a snowball no matter how hard I tried, and I did try. Nathan managed to throw unpacked snow pretty far, aiming directly at me and his sister.
I know we had gloves somewhere but we went outside close to 4 in the evening so I didn’t want to lose daylight. I thought Teagan would just stand or walk on the sidewalk but she was more interested in getting personal with the snow. I have ordered both her and Nathan some cute little winter mittens for toddlers since this last storm, so now all I have to do is make sure I don’t misplace them before our next snow storm. They have a huge strip of velcro and the mittens open up really wide so you don’t have to fight to get their little hands in them. But most importantly I chose the mittens because the price was right and I couldn’t find any in the stores.
Teagan only spent about 5 minutes outside because it was cold and also because Nathan wouldn’t leave her alone. Apparently he was really enjoying sprinkling snow all over her hat and coat.
