After a Friday night of boy bands, we spent Saturday night at a fundraiser for the Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation.
We dressed up pretty to support a good cause. Yay!
Sunday morning, bright and early, it was time to meet my team for the Hot Chocolate 15k. Jackie and Charis did not like that they had to wait for 3 hours to get their packets the day before (who could blame them?!) but my team was all smiles.
Jackie and Charis are on the left, showing their annoyance at the race. On the right is only part of Team Illinois that came out to run/walk/crawl/dance/whatever they wanted because they are awesome.
And then for the rest of Sunday we were useless because we were tired. I powered through another work week until my friend Lindsay arrived on Thursday night for another weekend full of Team Challenge, IBD fundraising, and silly fun. We met friends for dinner on Friday night and kept it low-key as we were both racing Chicago’s Perfect 10 the following day.
Pre-race pictures are always very necessary.
It was so much fun to have a bunch of the Team Challenge Midwest staff racing together! We celebrated with post-race mimosas, but I’ll just show you our pretty faces and the skyline.
Midwest is the best!
After a little nap and some cleaning up, it was time for a fundraiser for The Great Bowel Movement with some of my favorite diseased friends. I laughed more than I have in a long time, and it’s safe to say we all know a little too much about each other now.
My view at dinner. Love these guys. My side of the table was pretty rad too.
And then somehow Lindsay and I found ourselves out very late doing things that were silly.
Don’t worry, Mom. We weren’t drinking. We just do things like this because it’s fun. Yep. That’s it.
What’s the perfect way to end a weekend like that? Glad you asked.
So, how have your weekends been lately?
