For the month of April, I am participating in the Health Activist Writers Monthly Challenge (#HAWMC). Each day in April, I’ll try to post something related to the daily prompt for this challenge. Don’t worry, I’ll still be posting typical Forward is a Pace posts, too! So it just means you’ll probably see more from me, including weekend posts, like today! Get excited.
Today’s prompt: Pretend you’re making a time capsule of you and your health focus that won’t be opened until 2112. What’s in it? What would people think of when they found it?
Since making a time capsule of me would be a project so big that you wouldn’t want to read that whole post, I’m going to focus on a “My Life with Ulcerative Colitis” time capsule. Take a journey through the contents with me, won’t you?
The first thing that would go in my capsule is my trusty hoodie or tee from The Great Bowel Movement . Not only would it be a clear indicator for the rest of the contents, but it would demonstrate my openness about my IBD.
One of my favorite shirts, by far.
Naturally, next I’d put in something Team Challenge related. Perhaps a team photo with Justin Bieber? My super rad singlet? My fundraising letter? But the way I love Team Challenge, and the friendships I’ve made with people with Crohn’s and colitis need to be documented.
