April has been a bit of a roller coaster ride with my Crohn’s disease. Some days I feel fantastic. Other days, well, I’ll spare you the gory details, but there’s blood involved . I’m trying to keep my chin up. I’m taking advantage of good days and making the most of the not-so-good ones.
Drinking Pedialyte out of a martini glass makes it more fun.
Yesterday, I missed a work event that I’d really been looking forward to attending. Not only did I feel bad asking my boss to cover for me (I am sure she had better things to do from 5:30 am – 3:00 pm on a Saturday!), I really missed seeing the people that were there. To top it all off, I missed my grandmother’s 85th birthday party. My grandma is the cutest, sweetest lady around, so it was a huge let down to not be there.
But instead of wallowing all day long, I caught up with friends on the phone, read my book for this month’s book club, and watched nearly an entire season of Parks & Recreation. Okay, so it’s not the most productive way to spend a Saturday, I was making frequent (almost always painful) trips to the bathroom, and I was not where I wanted to be. I can still imagine a lot worse.
Here’s to positivity and brighter days ahead!
These came in the mail on Saturday. A sign of better days to come!
