I have been diagnosed with COPD after about 10 yrs of feeling really short of breath. I am 38 and I believe my FEV1 is 80% - what does this mean for me in terms of life expectancy? I am spiraling into a deep depression and I do not know how to cope with this news. I have a 12 yr old daughter!

July 5,2010 Susan C.I've been on oxygen for a year and a half. My Fev1 is now 31% and I get short of breath walking 15 feet. My oxygen level drops to 88 or worse (77) sometimes just going from my bedroom to the living room. This is about 50 feet!My doctor doesn't want me to use my power chair but I think I will have to. Does this happen to everyone? Some days are worse than others. I still go to the grocery store, doctors ,etc but it gets harder and harder. Tell me I'm not alone.
