October 16, 2008 Remember differences between liquid oxygen and concentrators

Posted Oct 16 2008 9:07pm

Weight lifting...I have skipped a few days, maybe next week after my long walk on Sunday. Busy today, walked in the morning pulling an Eclipse portable oxygen concentrator-with the larger wheeled cart. On a pulse dose of 6 . I was able to do 3 miles in 1 hour +6 minutes. Couldn't walk faster or my sats dropped too low, especially on up inclines and hills. I ranged about from 88-94%. Still a 22 minute mile isn't bad at all, and that is at 5500 ft altitude. To feel my best, I will stick with liquid oxygen, so I can maintain sats above 96 % at all times, but this machine sure is good for travel with its 1-6 pulse dose, and constant flow up to 3 L. I may try pushing it in my stroller another time, my shoulders and hands did get tired a bit from pulling it...uphill and incline of almost a mile was more difficult. Level and down hill no problems. After that my husband and I visited a hospitals health fair. Now time for bed. Hope every one is feeling good. roxlyngcd@comcast.net
