I AM GEARING UP FOT THE COOLER WEATHER, IT USUALLY HITS ME AROUND THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER- LAST YEAR I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL IN OCTOBER EVEN THOUGH I HAD ALL MY FLU AND PNEUMONIA SHOTS- DRIED MY HAIR EVERY MORNING- WORE A SWEATER AND WASHED MY HANDS ALL THE TIME. I AM GETTING WORRIED ALREADY, BUT TRYING NOT TO. I WISH EVERYONE TO BE WELL THROUGH THE WINTER MONTHS AS THEY SEEM TO BE THE WORST FOR COPD FLARE UPS. KAREN

My introduction

I'm a 68 y/o female from NC who has severe COPD. While I've had COPD for 7 or 8 years, it has taken a very long time for me to realize that the disease is not necessarily a death sentence. Even though there is no cure, research, new medications and treatment have given us much hope for an improved life in living with COPD. I feel these blogs can be a great asset to us by sharing our experiences and lending a caring ear to those who need it from time to time. Best of luck for good breathing to everyone!
