Under development at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York is a game called Lit: A Game Intervention for Nicotine Smokers that is intended to help players reduce or eliminate tobacco use from their lives. Playing Lit2Quit (as the game is referred to by developers) mimics the stimulant and relaxing effects of smoking. The project, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Health Games Research program, is for play on a smart phone so smokers can take it anywhere.

Watch the video provided by Advance for Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine to see the game in action and hear the developers’ thoughts on the project.
