Jan 18, 2009 Half a day lazy Sunday - always some exercise with COPD

Posted Jan 19 2009 1:16am

What a tough time I had waking up this morning. I felt as though I had melted into the mattress. Wiggle my toes, wiggle my nose, and manage to open one eye the other one stuck shut. Finally with a cough I managed to pull my knees up. No, flop down and drowse again. With the encouragement of my husbandsaying pancakes are on the griddleI rolled onto my side and got my legs over the side of the bed and sat up. Half-way up! Then I pushed off and launched into a walk to the lavatory and wash up. OH, so slow. It is this way every day, yet once up, I do very well. Keep pushing and moving to maintain what abilities you now have and do a little more to improve each day. Get into the upward spiralthe more you dothe more you can do. After the Sunday paper, I plan to work at neatening the house and of course do my weekly stair climbing of 30 minutes up and down my 2 flights of stairs.I did 30.17 minutes, climbed up the 30 steps 33 times, and pedometer recorded 1,857 steps (some on landings too). I don' t mind saying I was sweating and very tired from it, but, I felt good. It seems to empty out the trapped air in my lungs...
