I coughed so hard that I had severe pain that felt as though it swept across my chest, down my arms and hands. Is this normal?

The pain was a 12 on a 1 - 10 scale.  Now my face and hands are very red like a sunburn and my muscles feel fatigued. I have severe asthma/bronchiectasis.  I choked slightly and may have inhaled a tiny bit of food causing the coughing spell.  I doubt that it was a heart issue as it felt like muscle/nerve pain or blood vessels?  I don't know.  I've also had a cervical fusion of the c4-5 region which cracked loudly just yesterday.  Not sure what to think.

I don't have an answer, but I just experienced the same thing when choking on a bit of food and coughed so hard, the pain was intense in my chest/lungs and down both arms... makes you wonder if you're gonna die!!   So I'm wondering the same thing, and that's how I found this....
