Dec 27, 2008 COPD Pulmonary Rehab-outdoors-it's cold outside

Baby it' s cold outside, but I intend to take a walk anyway, wearing a nice down jacket, scarf for the nose, and backpacking oxygen. Yesterday the 8L setting wasn' t quite enough to keep my sats above 95%, the hills knocked my sats down to 90%. That IS NOT comfortable for me, I start to get pains in legs, and not feel so good. Today I will try it up on 10L. The higher the setting the more I have to limit my time out. 8L would last 2 hrs...15 will go for 1 hour. Once I get moving I stay plenty warm. Back from my walk, same 3 miles as yesterday but counter clock wise, meant a shorter up steep hill, but a long gradual incline, hooray, 48:43, about a minute and a half faster. Maybe the cold spurred me on, I am as warm as toast now. Some of my 1st "happenings/events" recorded,http://www.effortsmembers.org/happenings/06%5Frun%5Fthe%5Fregisterr.htmLook for Lyn or Roxlyn back when I was an active member ofWalker' s group.http://www.effortsmembers.org/happenings_index1.htmthen some old photos of the 6th Long Term oxygen Therapy conference in 2005http://www.emphysema.net/LTOT/denver.htm
