April 07, 2009 Patient assistance programs, learn, move help yourself

Welcome long time and newcomers to Pulmonary Rehab & after: Shortcut to it >>
http://360.yahoo.com/roxlyngcd< this is the link to go to the daily page. I try to give quality, up to date technical information, along with some personal experiences and stories other patient's have sent in. If you have a story? Send it in, be an internet COPD star. Those patient's stories are the most inspiring. Some are incredibly advanced in rehabilitation. Each person keep in mind that they should not compare themselves to others, just see what they do improving, THAT is great even if it is only minutes, even seconds more in some cases...and realize so much is possible that you too can try to do some more moving each day, and that you can and WILL improve your functions and feel better-[BARRING OTHER PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS , AND PROPORTIONATE TO YOURSTARTING POINT]. In other wordscompete with yourself, it is possible to feel better. Today is pretty much help sites, research material, and one story. Like the squirrel help yourself to what is available...not necessarily hydrating someone else's coke.Discover Human Anatomy Like Never Before!http://www.visiblebody.com /

They praise Mike McBride and his exercise, so, try to do more & help yourself too, maybe not a marathon worth, but you can target to increase by a minute per week, go for 30 to 60 minutes.http://www.health.com/health/condition-article/0,,20268772_2,00.html

Last night I really had to force myself to get on the elliptical for 20 minutes and cycle for 20...even the music didn't help much. I forgot to turn on my high flow tank the first minutes and wondered WHY it was sooooo hard...oops, sats down to 80%. A couple of minutes won't hurt, but you sure don't want to do that with any frequency or for very long. The effect on your vital organs is cumulative...you will pay later for sloppy O2 use, and then sorely regret it. roxlyngcd@comcast.net
