I have a very strange problem. I have been to numerous practitioners of western and alternative persuasions and no one can figure this out. When I try to take a normal dose of probiotics, after about a week, I get a huge overgrowth of it in my vagina, causing itching and dryness. I have had this tested and it is indeed probiotic. I have had many stool tests done, and they all say that my probiotics are low, but I can't take them without the aforementioned problem. I don't have candida, and only experience this problem when I try to take probiotics. Do you have any ideas?
It could possibly be that your body produces enough healthy bacteria on its own. Try taking the probiotics every 2 or 3 days. If you spread the doses out a little it may prevent the overgrowth. You can also try a different brand of probiotic. Some have fillers that can cause an allergic reaction. Just because a label says a product is "all natural" does not mean it is free of fillers.
