Wheat grass is grown from wheat berries.  This nutritious and healthy herb can be picked naturally at your health store or grown at home by you. They can be grown outdoors or indoors and can grow from a few inches tall to over a foot tall.

It is believed that you receive the most of the health benefits from the herbs grown outdoors. This is because those grown indoors grow fast and do not have the time to fully develop all of the richness of vitamins and minerals or change the simple sugars into complex carbohydrates prior to be harvested.  To get all the benefits offered do not pick wheat grass until jointing occurs.  Jointing is when the plant sprouts the seed heads.
