It's now the 14th of December...and we have 12 days to Christmas! Can you believe it? So much to do, so little time.
Don't get into a frenzy. Be methodical and do it on your time. Don't rush. The more hasty you move, the more mistakes that can happen. Breathe.
How much shopping have you done? Do you have a tree yet? Some do, some don't. We all have our own process.
Our own process...
What goes along with Christmas? That's right, EATING! For some reason, as the daylight is shortened and nightfall is lengthened, our appetites become unsatisfied and we tend to eat more. And as we all know, the food triples and quadruples as it gets closer to Christmas too.
The hibernation process is setting into our lives and waist lines.
It's okay to give in to those holiday goodies, let's just not forget to do so in moderation. People want to eat and eat from Thanksgiving onward, but the moment January 1st arrives, we want to cut off those habits cold turkey and expect success.
We create the eating habit from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve. We do it gradually as well. So then why do expect instant success on the exercise and dieting front?
Habits take time to form. If we want a positive and successful new year, then we have to be patient with ourselves and do it in a gradual manner.
