Sun Salutations & Winter Solstice

It is important to wake up every day and embrace the sun's light. It is difficult to do this when we wake up before sunrise in December because our nights become longer than our days, but it is important to celebrate the light.
Sun Salutations are an important yoga movement that we should do (regardless of a yoga studio). It is not necessary to GO to yoga. Just wake up and do it right in your bedroom or living room.
Tomorrow is winter solstice...the longest night of the year. It is the time when light is celebrated. We turn our lights on and our Christmas lights on and embrace our light.
Shine our light on from within too.
During these days when they are so short - as our nights are so long, we tend to get the seasonal affective disorder where we get that lack of sunlight depression...
Keep the light within us and keep shining and embrace the Christmas lights that we see.
Do some sun salutations in the morning before you start your day...even a set of 3 or 4 will be a benefit. Sun salutations help blood pressure, stress, and breathing - among much much more!!
After December 21, our daylight will begin to get longer again...though we will not notice it as much until February or March.
Keep the faith, and keep shining bright....
