Rest Stop Rejuvenate

Posted Jul 30 2012 8:00am

“It can be hard to describe if you have never been,
but once you have been you are forever changed.”

Inside the historic stone building at 21 Maple Avenue in Rockaway, NJ transformation is happening as a quiet and powerful community is being formed.

When Vicky Mulligan, owner of Rest Stop Rejuvenate, opened the doors in May 2008 she had a vision that was unlike anything this small town had experienced before. Over the past 4 years she has managed to stay true to her vision while expanding, growing and never being afraid to change her mind or direction.

“Rest Stop is the community’s living room. A listening room, a space that supports the evolution of self-expression,” says Vicky.

From the workshops, to the Open Mic events for musicians, poets and comedians Rest Stop is a place where anyone can come and take positive risks that support their own growth and development.

Vicky herself has taken many positive risks, joining fellow musicians onstage and changing the direction of her business several times over the years. Her training with Carolyn Myss along with her work as a Spiritual Counselor and Intuitive Healer have allowed the creation of such a welcoming space that offers profound, life changing workshops and one-on-one self-development sessions.

Whether you are looking to go inward through archetypal study, meditation or expand yourself outward through self-expression using one of the poetry or writing groups, you will feel safe and at home at Rest Stop.

Running such a unique business that breaks the molds is never easy and it is often the unknown that keeps people saying, “I always wondered what that place was.”

Yet it is the unknown that makes Rest Stop so utterly amazing.

When you walk through the doors to attend an event, workshop or artist meet and greet you will be welcomed with a warm, “hello” from most likely Vicky herself. A hand shake and a genuine smile will offer you tea or coffee or maybe something cool and refreshing. As you start to look around you will be enveloped with the warmth of someone’s living room as the energy inside relaxes and rejuvenates your being.  The event begins as you realize a journey has started that is completely of your own design and control. The best part being that you are part of a supportive community of like-minded individuals.

If you value self-expression and the journey to reach one’s highest potential you will want to visit Rest Stop Rejuvenate and support this unique and necessary space. At a time when so much is uncertain, the journey to true self-expression is what can offer healing, comfort and above all community.
