This small bowl was my friend's and she asked me to repair small chip on the top followed by the quite long crack on the side.
I made the alternative part for chipped part on the top, glued it with urushi and covered the repaired parts with real gold powder. The timing of covering the repaired parts with gold is the most delicate process in "kintsugi". If the timing is wrong, gold will not stick on the repaired parts so that the part will not gain strength and beautiful appearance.
My friend was so delighted with the repaired bowl. She said she would use this bowl from serving small salad to making macha green tea. This bowl is supposed to be a macha bowl. I though that being flexible to use a favorite bowl as anything you want is brilliant. It is more fun to taste anything from it. Green in matcha green tea and green in salad can surely look great in this pale bowl with a touch of gold.
