Ready to Bounce?

I work a lot spreading the word about wellness from behind my desk, sitting in boardrooms, and on my feet in front of an audience. I have a great meditation practice that gets fit in no matter what ( this particular technique can be used with eyes closed or with eyes open in the midst of everyday activities ), but the work-out practice has not come as easily.

A few months ago I started a 4 day a week martial arts class. After the third class I sprained my ankle walking around my neighborhood which took me out of the game for weeks. Now it is time to start moving again. “Take it easy” my chiropractor told me. “No martial arts yet.” I trust her advice so I am looking for a gentle way to get moving.

For about two years I have had it on my list to buy a mini-trampoline aka rebounder. There are 638 muscles in the human body and when you bounce on a rebounder all of them are involved.  The transition between gravity and weightlessness slowly releases tension in each one so it is great for toning and detoxing. The Cadillac of rebounders is called a Bellicon, made in Germany and now being sold in the US. Mine is shipping tomorrow and will arrive next week.

I’m excited about playing on this thing and I ordered the large so the guys in my house can enjoy it, too. There are videos on the website that show how it works and a series of work-out videos I intend to try. Check it out and let me know if you want to bounce, too: Bellicon
