I like to make this recipe on occasion. It’s just like the recipe says: quick, cheap and easy. It’s also very filling, delicious, and makes 4 GENEROUS servings. If you have unexpected company while throwing this recipe together, just add more rice.
Ingredients:
1 large head of cabbage, chopped up as for stir fry.
2 medium onions, chopped
1 pound spicy bulk sausage (Actually, you can use whatever type of sausage you have on hand.)
1 cup cooked rice
Salt to taste
Hot pepper flakes to taste
Directions:
I like to use my wok while making this recipe, but you can use a large soup pot and it will turn out the same.
Break the sausage up into small bits while frying. While frying the sausage, go ahead and cook the rice, according to package directions, in another pot.
Drain the sausage. (Or not, depending on how kind you wish to be to your arteries.) Dump the onions, cabbage, and seasonings into the sausage in the wok. Stirring until cabbage is tender and to your liking. Once the cabbage is done, stir in the rice. Serve with garlic bread.
