compass Putting Passion In Your Workouts One way to increase your workout frequency is find a way to put passion in your workouts. Last weekend, as we often do, my husband and I went geocaching. Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt, finding treasures or caches with the use of a GPS unit and provided coordinates.

We selected a destination to begin. Then using my Geocache Navigator on my Blackberry, we scouted out for the nearest geocaches. We found six that day–and walked nearly five miles. We were so determined to find the last caches that we just kept walking and walking. It was fun too. At one point, my husband, the consumate adventurer, decided we should cross the prairie a half mile to cut out part of the longer trail route.

The landscape was rolling and the grass thick. The trek was a challenge. Undoubtedly, we burned more calories than had we just taken a leisurely stroll. We didn’t stop to think how difficult it would be. We just did it. It was a good kind of tired afterwards. I enjoyed the shared experience with my husband.
