If your daughter is open to trying out some meridian tapping (same energy points used in acupuncture), it may help to strengthen her immune system. Here is a link to a blog post about the tapping process for boosting the immune system. http://eft-tips.blogspot.com/2007/09/eft-for-strengthening-immune-system.html
Also, just tapping throughout the day on the center of the chest, where the thymus is located, helps to boost immune function.
School teachers have it tough in this regard -- they are exposed to so many different illnesses! I remember the years I taught I was sick all the time; one year I missed so much school I almost lost my job (and I was thinking, fire me? you should give me workers' comp for this!)
Chinese medicine has some really great herbal formulas to boost the immune system; for teachers and people with weakened immunity, I suggest that they take them throughout the cold and flu season. You can get products that are manufactured in facilities that adhere to GMP, or Good Manufacturing Practices, which means that everything is thoroughly tested to make sure the facility is sanitary, the herbs listed are the actual ingredients, and products are tested for bacteria, heavy metals and other contaminants. I am very choosy about what brands I use, and there are several that are very safe.
Acupuncture can also help build the immune system, and cut short colds and flu once they begin. I can help you find an acupuncturist/herbalist near you if you like!
Good luck with this!
Marilyn
