Mind-body Healing--Cheer up and Fight off Colds This Season

Many of us know that stress can make us more susceptible to disease but researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have found that a positive attitude will reduce the likelihood of getting colds or the flu.

Research has shown that people with a positive attitude not only ward off the cold and flu viruses but also recover faster from surgery and live longer after contracting cancer.

I have always believed in a profound connection between mind and body. Thoughts do not just exist and reside in the brain but connect with the entire body via the secretions of neurotransmitters and hormones (neuroendocrine system).

So in order to help protect you from colds and flu you can:

Wash your hands frequently

Get plenty of sleep
