Hello,

Two of the most popular product types that people tell us about in my blog, "Sham vs. Wham" for constipation are magnesium and senna.

Senna is an herb that has a mild stimulative effect (it's a laxative, but natural) and you can take it on a now-and-again basis to get yourself going once more. But, don't start taking senna or any laxative-type product on a daily basis, or your bowels will learn to "lean" on the product and you'll require it every day for the rest of your life. Coffee is another natural stimulant to the bowels.

The product I think works the most safely are the various fizzy magnesium powdered drinks from the manufacturer "Peter Gillham's Natural Vitality" under the name CALM. It's a decent tasting powder that you can drink hot or cold, and it's simply a high-powered magnesium. A cup a day of this and you'll love the effect --- gets you going quickly

Good luck. You can visit my website for hundreds of articles about health topics and products like these, at http://shamvswham.blogspot.com/

Hello,

Constipation is very treatable with Chinese medicine and acupuncture.   Chinese medicine works by addressing imbalances in the body.  Once the imbalance is corrected, the body works to heal itself.

Often with issues of the digestive tract, the diagnosis can be associated with what we consider the body's vital energy, called qi. Correcting this imbalance in qi can lead to a long term improvement.

The herbs and acupuncture are tailored to your specific condition, so not everyone should be taking the same herbs.  For example, it is possible to have constipation from too little qi, but it also possible to have it from the qi not circulating.

Although it is not commonly known, Qi gong and tai chi can also help consitpation.  These slow moving exercises help improve your energy and digestion.

All the best,

Joseph
