One of the most common responses to offers of help or support is, “I’m fine, thanks.” This is usually followed by, “How are you?” or “How can I help you?” We are all so eager to help others that we forget about taking care of ourselves and actually wave opportunities by to improve our own quality of life.
How do I know this, and why do I say we do it? I’m guilty of it myself. Yup. The one friends and clients call “Wellness Pusher” gets so busy taking care of others and trying to turn them on to what is possible that I catch myself in the act of blowing off support all the time.
Actually this is part of what drove us to create Wellness Possibilities in the first place. We each noticed ourselves passing on services that could change our life for the better. Not just little enhancements, but a whole other level of experience was available, and we almost missed it.
All this came to mind when I watched the trailer for the movie I’m Fine, Thanks. This film has raving fans even though it hasn’t come out yet because it is touching a nerve across the U.S. and beyond. It is waking people up from the kneejerk reactions that let the good stuff in life pass us by. In order to get this film completed, the crew working on it is asking for support via Kickstarter. I invite you to take a look and join the movement, perhaps by contributing to their cause, but definitely by catching yourself before you pass on all the good that is here for you.
