Herbal Tonic for the whole body

Posted Apr 09 2009 7:16pm

The herbal formula for Mowrey’s total body tonic consists of the 10 herbs that follows: Sarsaparilla root, Siberian Ginseng, Fo-Ti, Gotu Kola, Saw Palmetto berries, Licorice root, kelp, Stillingia, Alfalfa, & Cayenne (Mowrey, 1986, pg 285).  Regardless what ails you - this will give your body the support it needs to become self-healing.

A   specific purpose of each herb in the total body tonic is as follows:

Sarsaparilla root – alterative and general tonic effects;   Siberian Ginseng – central nervous system stimulant; Gotu Kola – blood purifier; Saw Palmetto berries – effects on body weight, general health and disposition; Licorice root – to modulate and strengthen the activity of other herbs; Kelp – offset thyroid deficiency and reduce constipation; Alfalfa – vitality augmenter; Cayenne – positive effects on circulation and all body systems; Fo-Ti – reduce serum cholesterol; Stillingia – alterative (Mowrey, 1986, pgs 287, 288, 289, 290, 208, 291, 208, 289, 57).

Assuming to make a one-month’s supply, prepare a formula that will result in weighing 120 grams.   Somewhat following Green’s guidance, initial consumption will be 2 capsules twice daily (Green, 2000, pg 295).   Additional support canl be given in the event of illness or increased stress (Mowrey, 1986, pg 285)

Taking into account the guidelines for typical daily usage set forth by Pedersen (Pedersen, M. 1998, pgs 152, 158, 105, 153. 119, 117, 35, 62), I will use the amounts indicated.   Please note that Fo-ti and Stillingia were not mentioned in Pedersen’s book, so those amounts are guestimates.

Sarsaparilla root                  20.4 gm

Siberian Ginseng                         3.4 gm

Gotu Kola                               20.4 gm

Saw Palmetto berries                3.4 gm

Licorice root                            10.2 gm

Kelp                                          .6 gm

Pulverize the dried herb material to a powder.   Or purchase it as a powder.   Blend all powders thoroughly.   Using a capsule gadget, place blended powder into the capsules.

Enjoy your improving health!
