Winter Solstice 2012 – Not the End of the World!
I hope everyone has a beautiful day and night today and that we all make room for a few moments of quiet to mark this, the darkest, most “yin” night of the year. There has been so much hype around this date being predicated as the end of the world by ancient Mayans, but that is a misinterpretation. It is only the end of the world in that it is the beginning of a new world, a new time. Today the sun, earth and center of the galaxy are in alignment This happens once every about 26,000 years! What a time to be alive! We are in the direct flow of light and of energy that can transform our lives. Open yourself to this energy, feel it. It may feel subtle, or it may feel very strong, but the key is Flow. Get into the river of this new time and flow. The possibilities of this new energy are endless and it is a time to begin living our true purpose, to find what we are looking for not by searching out in the world, but by looking within. A time to be the leaders in our own lives. Let this energy be about love, about living our highest life, and inspiration and about peace.
I find the winter solstice the most sacred night of the year, knowing that I am in the darkest of the dark nights. And this year, with it’s terrible tragedy in a small town very near where I live here in CT, it is indeed a very dark night. Let us hope that this is the darkest moment of our humanity. Let’s pray that from this place, light emerges and increases all around us.
Light a candle, welcome the light. This is where the hidden fertility deep in the earth begins to reemerge and to lighten our days and our lives. Happy Solstice and Happy 12-21-2012!
