Great Alternative to Whey & Soy Protein: Olympian Labs "Greens Protein 8 in 1"

Posted Oct 25 2008 4:48pm 1 Comment
One of the developers of Olympian Labs "Greens Protein 8 in 1" was a guest on the Dr. Bob Martin Show. The eight products it contains are
  1. Naturally occuring , highly assimilated whole food vitamins and minerals.
  2. Enzymes that reduce the viscosity of foods in the stomach, resulting in better absorption and bioavailability of nutrients.
  3. Hypoallergenic pea protein isolate that yields a high biological value (65.4%).
  4. Patented fiber protection that yields 10% of the RDA fiber requirements.
  5. Antioxidant protection providing 4845 ORAC units per serving.
  6. Amino acids and herbal detoxifiers for gentle detoxification & cleansing.
  7. Friendly bacteria, known as probiotics, that play a role in digestion, proper metabolism, and overall health. Current research shows the regular use of probiotics promotes normal digestive health and helps to restore intestinal balance even for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) sufferers.
  8. The Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) that are critical to human life and are particularly involved in stress, energy, and muscle metabolism.

Great article and very pleasing to see that there are others who are interested in providing some healthier alternatives to the mainstream protein supplements.

We have recently done a review on another protein powder "Phyto Protein" by Vital Greens. Our reasons for doing some research into a more natural alternative were simple... we hear from a lot of people who experience tummy upsets from the protein powder they are takin, and we are also very conscious of the artificial sweeteners that are in the mainstream products.  Given that protein shakes form a part of many peoples daily routine we felt it was important to provide some options.

We are pleased to say the results of the review were surprisingly good! If you are interested in a healthy alternative that stacks up go to:
