After Sue’s first vlog, we talked about holding the space. Dawn had brought a table for the conference room that was not exactly what I had in mind. My way of holding the space would have been to not fill the space with something that was temporary. I would have left it empty (I can be a little too strict and literal on some things like this). Dawn shared how she holds the space in a different way. She knows this is not the training room furniture we have imagined and it is not a substitute. She brought what she had so that there is a comfortable place for people to sit while we are on the way to the perfect solution. Since then we have had multiple meetings around that table. Lunches, healing conversations, business breakthroughs. I so appreciate that table and the way it is working and preparing us for what is ideal, and the truth is, I don’t know what that is yet. The space is being used for training sessions, spontaneous healing sessions, dance breaks, and more. Last night I was working late on a project so my hubby brought dinner. Some friends stopped by and suddenly there we were, playing a round of our favorite party game around this table.
Holding the space can look different for each of us. What does it look like for you? How do you hold the space? Or how have you noticed others holding the space for you?
