A small but powerful defender of the immune system, this crunchy vegetable easily punches above its weight in nutrients.

Brussels sprouts have huge health benefits. They are especially effective in supporting the immune system during the winter months when infections are most likely to strike. On top of their vitamin and nutrient content, they contain numerous disease-fighting phytochemicals, including glucosinolates and antioxidant phenols. Glucosinolates are now believed to combat the carcinogens caused by overheating meat.  Brussels sprouts are good for the skin, too, giving a healthy lustrous glow.

Nutrients: Vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, E, beta carotene, folate, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, fiber, omega-3 oils and protein.
