This certainly sounds like something that should be checked by a professional. One thing it could be is a torus - a benign bony outgrowth on the roof of your mouth or from the jaw-  but there are many things that it could be.

Guessing about something like this could put off treatment if it's needed, so you should really have it checked as soon as possible.

I agree with Lill - its important to have 'lumps & bumps' checked professionally.

If your diagnosis reveals a benign bony outgrowth, celloid minerals are often employed by natural therapists to slowly but safely remove bony growths where they're not supposed to be.
