I cannot tell you the number of patients I have seen with perfectly treatable conditions, who have been told by their doctor that they just have to "live with it". Or, either you take this medication or just live with it. The most common ones are Irritable Bowel Syndrome (more in a recent post), PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome), menstrual pain and heavy periods (whether due to fibroids or not).
Although this is a bit of a short list, if you have any of these health issues, you are probably aware that they are pretty difficult to live with. And, no, you definitely don't have to live with them. They are all very treatable with naturopathic medicine and usually not too complicated to treat either.
I have had some of the above when I was a teenager and so I know how awful it can be. And it always breaks my heart when I see someone who has resigned themselves to suffering because they think there is no other way.
It is important to remember that you need to be willing to make dietary and lifestyle changes (because everything you have done up until this point has gotten you where you are -- so some of those things need to change), but there is no reason you need to learn to "live with it".
On a slightly more philosophical note, always remember that when someone (even me!) tells you "There is nothing that can be done about that", what they are actually saying is: "There is nothing that can be done about thatas far as I know". And it's that little qualifier on the end that makes the difference.
