In a world full of deadlines, family commitments and an overbooked schedule, we often forget to take care of what is important; our own health and well-being. So many times we take care of everyone but ourselves. We feel a need to come to everyone else’s rescue. How many times have you told yourself, I don’t have time to relax, go to the spa or workout?
Is your world so full of meetings, shuttling kids to various activities, and taking care of your family that you have lost a sense of self? Ask for help! Get your family and spouse involved in planning meals, making compromises in schedules for more family time, and commit to yourself to schedule “YOU” time for a break from all of the busyness of life.
Your health and your family’s well-being depend on you. If you are not mentally and physically healthy, you are not going to be at your best. Everyone will benefit from the time you take to workout, meditate or just relax on the back porch. Our mental state and outlook on life affect more than just us!
I have to schedule my workouts, plan meals ahead, schedule my husband’s doctor’s appointments in advance; just so I can have any sanity with my very full life. I know from experience, that if I do not make myself a priority; everyone pays a price for my lack of self-respect. Respect yourself enough to take care of your physical and emotional needs – you will notice a change in your life – for the better.
