i didn't find anything in the pdr that contraindicates alcohol. however, it is indicated that chantrix can cause drowsiness, as can alcohol use. there are also notes regarding kidney issues. since your question asked specifically for personal thoughts, why not just forego the alcohol and do a general 'housecleaning'?
since naturopathy is my specialty, i suggest acupuncture, lobelia, and oat straw, as they are well documented natural remedies to provide assistance when quitting smoking. there are also facilities around the US which provide excellent out-patient 'quit smoking' clinics with great success.....and they're drug-free.
