are there alternative treatments for Staphlococcus infections in the blood? outside of traditional antibiotics?

A family member has a very serious staph infection that is in his heart.  Eating away his heart wall and traditional antibiotics are not working and surgery is not a great option.

Is there an alternative medicine in the plant world that is a known antibiotic?
