Airplanes and sore throats....

By Carol Harblin (CHHC)

Just got back from a long plane ride last week, and I am feeling the side effects of it still. It's not just the jet-lag I have been feeling, but it's the overall dryness and the general germs of being confined to one place with 300 other people.

I have been fighting a head cold since I got off the plane and also a sore throat. What to do about a sore throat? Any holistic remedies? YUP!

One great homemade tea is boiling water with a few tablespoons of chopped fresh ginger and chopped fresh garlic too. Let it boil for about five minutes or so and then strain out the ginger and garlic. Then DRINK!

The garlic and ginger mixture will soothe the throat and help fight any bacteria and germs that is in the mouth and throat too.

Honey and lemon together (one part lemon, and two parts honey) and mix together is a good soothing combination for a sore throat.

Try some!
