Affordable Health Care- Benefits and Basics of Natural Health Options

In today’s hectic world, women continue to take on more and more. These tough economic times add additional stress to our lives that can easily impair the immune system and deplete our bodies of essential vitamins and minerals laying the foundation for decreased health and wellness.
In my natural health practice I am seeing many more stress out, maxed out and overwhelmed women. Many of my female clients have become the sole breadwinner for their family or have been the unfortunate victims of layoffs, downsizing and company closings. With tighter budgets, higher stress levels and less propensity to spend money on healthy extras like massages, acupuncture visits, facials, organic foods and even routine annual exams - the question that I am often asked is: How can I maintain my health without breaking the bank?
My sincere suggestion is to go natural and go basic. In that I mean to get to back to basics; a time where we put on our thinking caps and strategize ways to choose healthy and alternative methods that benefit, support and improve our health and the health of our families.
We can swap massages with our friends, families and loved ones easily and on a daily basis. The benefit is we get even closer to those we hold dear to our hearts and help our bodies release some built-up toxic stress. The art of acupressure can be easily learned through a library book and self-implemented to take advantage of the healing elements of this therapy.
Many of us live close to local farm stands and our communities host weekend farmers markets where we can support local growers and purchase healthy, vitamin and nutrient rich organic fruits and vegetables at a fraction of the cost.
Sometimes the most inexpensive household items can turn into great uses for the house and the body. Apple Cider Vinegar can be used for cleaning and works well as a daily health tonic or a gargle for a sore throat. Yogurt is not only great for digestive health but add a little honey or berries and put on your face it can function as a very effective facial.
These times may be trying, but they can also help us focus on what matters most: our health and our families.
