Hi. I am new to Wellsphere. My husband has been battling Stage III-A Colon Cancer since 2005. I am writing to keep loved ones informed of his progress and to educate others about Colon Cancer. http://ronsroad2recovery.blogspot.com
A year ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancerous polyps in her colon and consequently, had to remove it. Later, my siblings and I got screened and two of my brothers as well as myself had the same thing. We also had to remove our colon.
Since this unfortunate incident has happened, I have decided to pay it forward by walking a half-marathon/ 5k run organized by the Scotia Bank on April 18, 2010 while raising funds for the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada. I will walk for a cure and hope to pass on this message: Colon cancer is a silent disease and being screened is vital. Both my brothers, Sam (29) and Gabriel(18) as well as, myself (22) are lucky that under certain circumstances we were tested and treated before afflicted by the big C.
We are the lucky ones and I urge that anyone who has a family history with colorectal diseases or anyone over the age of fifty to please, please get screened. Doing so, when we did, has saved the life of four individuals.
I would love it if you can all help me out or even support my cause. I need sponsors for the run. You can help support me by making a secure online donation using your credit card. Click on the link below:
