Spiritual and Emotional Health: Do You Ever Feel Blue?

Do you ever feel BLUE? Our face may not actually look blue in color when we are feeling down, lost, lonely and depressed; but our faces can reveal how we feel. I know that many times I will try to put on a “happy face” to try to hide how I truly feel, but those closest to me can see beyond the façade. My husband has said that all the “make-up” I may put on my face and “fake” smiles cannot hide the pain he can see in my eyes. As much as I may try to suppress my feelings, I cannot conceal them from my loved ones; especially the ONE who loves me and knows me more than I can ever imagine.
As the Psalmist cries out to the Lord in Psalm 25:16-17, “Turn to me and have mercy on me, because I am lonely and hurting. My troubles have grown larger; free me from my problems.” (NCV); so does my heart cry out to Him when I am troubled and in pain. Then in the deepest part of my heart I hear His gentle voice tenderly say, “… do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10, NIV).
Dear Lord, I am so thankful that I can cry out to You whenever I feel downtrodden, alone and in pain. Remind me dear Lord that even in my darkest moments, You are with me always. Amen.
