On January 12 I started experiencing knee pain and then shooting pain to my head until I had a severe migraine, OTC Advil Xtra Strength 400mg did not work so I went to 3 hospitals and then was given a medication that finally stopped my migraine the only problem was following the migraine I have electrical shooting pain shooting to my left knee, foot, hand and back. The emergency said they couldn’t help me unless I was dying. By now I have visited my family doctor 7 days in a row and she gave me some medication Lyrica which after the 6 th day stopped the electrical shooting pain and OxyContin 10mg because I’m allergic to codeine and Percocet didn’t work for a week. My Doctor said she doesn’t know what to do, I saw a Rheumatologist, Orthopaedic surgeon in 1 week and they said I was fine, but the pain kept persisting and my headaches came back. Then I’ve seen a neurologist and he wanted to wait for a CT scan. I have finally got an MRI in place to see what’s wrong. I’m still in pain and I need more advice can you please answer my question.
Symptoms: Electrical shooting pain in left arm, leg, head(causing migraine), and knee --Left arm and leg going numb and tingly --Feels like some one is jabbing something in to my foot --Twitches all overA lot of lower back pain on my right side
Medications I have been taking for 3 weeks: Atacand 16mg – 1 time a day – My doctor says my blood pressure is too high cause of the anxiety and no sleeping -1 a day-
Lyrica 75mg – 4 times a day – Stops the electrical shooting pain - given JAN 29
OxyContin 10mg – 3 times a day – Masks the pain in my back, knee and foot - given JAN 29
Gen-Zopiclone – 1 at bedtime –makes me sleep; I don’t think I do sleep though in this pain, I get 4 hours on this medication - Given JAN29
Cymbalta – 30mg 1 or 2 times a day- I don’t why I’m taking this ...it was given to me on Feb 12... What I do: Apply cold/hot on areas that hurt --Massage by my Dad and at a place --Eat greens and a lot of Fibre --Work out my legs and arms with 10lb weights for 5mins...or so not to hurt myself --stretch --Drink lots of water
